After watching the Great Gatsby, like many other people I felt inspired. This led to me planning this Gatsby stylized senior shoot. I knew from the beginning however that I didn’t want the photographs to look like a time piece. I wanted to put a modern twist on the Great Gatsby in the form of a high school senior session. From there I set out to find clothing, accessories and props that I thought would fit this vision. Surprisingly I found a lot of the clothing pieces at Marshalls, an array of beautiful black and gold ornate ensembles. The clothing pieces were a lot easier to source than the accessories were.
The next step in executing this shoot was finding the perfect model that personifies old beauty. Instinctively I took to social media to find my “Daisy”. There were a couple girls interested in this concept shoot, but there was one that stood out above the rest. She knew how to pose perfectly and nailed every little direction I gave her. After testing a couple of girls, I chose Grace.
Grace is currently a junior at Tremper High School, apart of Tremper’s cross country team and will be a senior rep for Nicole Henry Photography this year. I am beyond excited to be working with Grace again. Like I mentioned before, she is a pro at posing and taking direction which made my decision a no-brainer for the Gatsby shoot. Grace also has a natural beauty about her that you will see in her “before” picture that I took when testing all the interested girls.
